In this session, parents will be introduced to strategies and resources to help support their middle school child in math. From sharing online resources such as Khan Academy and Moby Max to study skills and organization techniques, parents in this session will learn ways to support their child in surviving middle school math. 
 
In this session, we will explore simple games that help students learn high-frequency words and phonics patterns with easy to find items.  We will also discuss ways to help students comprehend more of what they are reading. Finally, there will be time for questions about the new Take Home Reading Program for K-3.

 
This strand will focus on exploring core class expectations and common practices like use of technology and various forms of writing. We will also explore 8th-grade topics like the PSAT and how to choose the right classes for high school. 

In this session, you will get an overview of the technology curriculum & applications commonly used by WUSD students, the Common Sense Media digital citizenship lessons, Google for Education (Google Classroom, gmail and Google Slides/Docs), and Digital Literacy Standards by grade level. 

Math practice doesn't have to be a chore! Make it fun for you and your child by exploring hands-on games you can play with little to no preparation. 

Social Media Safety (Room 36)
In this session, members of West Sacramento Police Department will share important information on social media safety. We will discuss ways resources for parents and identify social media apps that parents may be unaware of. 

In this session, you will learn how to view your child’s SBAC scores and interpret the results. Resources, practice tests, and other important information will be shared with parents for the 3-8th grade ELA and Math SBAC assessments.
