Absences

Absences

Our curriculum is paced for daily learning of state subject standards and any missed class time is a missed learning opportunity.  Therefore, it is highly recommended that doctors appointments be made after school hours whenever possible.  If your child is absent due to illness for more than one day, please call the school to request class assignments.  I will put a packet together which you may pick-up at the front desk.

If your child will be absent for five consecutive days, please contact the school office prior to the absence to arrange for an independent study contract.
Birthdays

Birthdays

In keeping with the school's policies, only "healthy snacks" are allowed at recess breaks. If you wish to bring a birthday treat to school, please make sure you bring enough for each student (22). Treats should be individually sized (PLEASE no whole cakes or cupcake cakes). You may deliver your treat to the classroom at the beginning of the school day. I do not have access to a freezer so no frozen treats please. Birthday treats will be distributed at lunch AFTER students have eaten their meal.

Please do not send birthday party invitations to school unless EVERYONE in the class is invited. Thank you!
Class Parties

Class Parties

Instructional minutes are a priority........yet our class will participate in many fun activities which combine learning and celebrating! Flyers will be sent home prior to each activity day informing you of the scheduled events and any needed items.
